A Walk in The Park

On the 2nd day of CNY, we went to pick up some grocery and tapow dinner as Porky's chef and his friends are busy with mahjong. So we dropped by the One K Lake for a quick ride + walk and greet the ducks and geese. The evening ended with heavy rain, nice and cooling. What a grand day out.

After a long journey home, finally we reached the destination. Home! Feast and drinks and good times with the family after working headlessly for a year.

The ambience for celebrations are not so felt this year in Cats City. Partly due to the outbreak of Corona Virus in China. Everyone is being cautious and stays home.

Now lets eat!!!

CNY Journey Home 2020 Pt. 1

As we stayed in PC2 (Malacca) and will be celebrating Chinese New Year in PC Zero (Kuching), it will take a slightly great distance and effort to get home in time. Transportation planning with regards to road traffic congestion, price of air ticket, work leave planning etc are some of the factors for consideration.

Oh well, thats the exciting part of it. Its the thrill and hectiness that makes the celebration joyful, part of the essence.

CNY soon

It seems like is that time of the year again, where families get together and prepare for a grand feast. The journey home will be long, not that far but its kind of an art in planning. We have to take a car, bus and a plane. Yes a plane! How nice if we can have our own flying vehicle, that would cut short the hassle by a lot.

Porky was wondering why he hasn't see any flying vehicles around in 2020. He went into a deep thinking process, conceptualizing how would such a vehicle looks and function to ferry the Porkydigans around, and pass his ideas to engineer Ephant. We shall cover that soon.

For now, lets get back to CNY journey home to Porky's Cavern 0, where all it begin..

CNY 2011 Part 3 - The Decorations

Next, the decorations in Porky's Cavern where the goal is to keep everything simple and easy. Red symbolizes happiness while gold symbolizes wealth, that's what we need Porky said !

Symbolism
Mr. Pomelo - In Cantonese, 'you' is similar in sound to the phrase “to have.” To use a pomelo to decorate one’s home during the new year implies a wish that the home will have everything it needs the coming year.

Mandarin Orange - Their shape and color symbolize the sun and connect with the yang principle, which represents the positive element and generative force in nature. Thus oranges are considered auspicious fruits and important symbols for the New Year.

Little Pig - Do me need to say more ?

Mr. Hu Luo / Bottle Gourd - The Gourd, signifies abundant of riches and wealth. Specifically the bottle gourd is also a common Chinese symbol for longevity as well as good luck. Gourds are painted with the Chinese symbol for longevity and then displayed in the home to ward off harmful energies - thus promoting long life.

Pineapple - known in Hokkien as "ong lai" which translastes to 'prosperity comes'.

Laughing Buddha -most supreme symbols of joy and wellbeing.

CNY 2011 Part 1- Cutting the Lawn

Apart from me many other jobs here in the cavern, me primary job is still to take care of the garden. Our garden is humongous ! it takes me about 30 mins (15 mins walk 15 mins rest)to walk from 1 end to the other, & that is how big it is, enormously gigantous ! The amount of effort needed to maintain the garden is just pure muscle power which i only got one at me tummy. As CNY is over the corner, the lawn need to be taken care of. After scheming for few days, i decided to call the Grass Cutter Man ! he is a nice humble down to earth type of guy from Bangladesh, not like the previous one who moan too much.

me sitting back drinking lemonade & supervising The Grass Cutter Man !

As a reward, me decided to give him some goodies for his good manner and humbleness. Furthermore he is charging 100 Bear Coins rather than the previous one who demanded 160 Bear Coins + Drink (must be cold) + lepaking.

Gong Xi Gong Xi Bangla !

all nicely packed in goodies bag
