Tree Of Life - Morringa (Part 2)

Remember the miracle tree Porky nicknamed Tree Of Life that we planted few months back. It grew miraculously into a mini tree just by seeding it in a pot. Not much care or attention was given by the Porkydigans, however it seems to be self reliance.

According to Mr. Horton, its a robust and resilient tree, and often grown in famine country as humanitarian aid as it is highly nutritious. It does make sense to Mr. Benedict after he study the illustration below.

Tree of Life - Moringga (Part 1)

While in the Philippines, Porky discovered a plant that is kind of rare back home. Its scientific name is Moringga Oleifera, and also many other names, depending on which countries are referring to it. In India, it is known as DrumStick (Porky scratch head...??) and in Philippines as Malunggay. After doing some reading, all Porkydigans bagree (PKSH : agree) to call it Tree of Life, the most meaningful of all..

It's like a super plant, loaded with tons of vitamins and nutrients beating all other vegetables to TKO round in a boxing match. It is a common type of vegetables here in the Philippines, and one of the famous dish that taste yummy with this is Chicken Tinola (will post about the recipe next time). Cat bought the seeds from a Korean mini mart, supposedly to be eaten like peanuts, but Porky took a few and planted it in the garden. It grows steadily into a tree now, and soon Porkydigans will have ample supply of this super food. Read more about it here ...

Mango Harvesting Day 2014

IS that time of the year again, all the Porkydigans are in the garden on a hot sunny weekend, in their lumberjack apparel, carrying basket, holding ladder and picking up dropped mangoes from the grass. Yup, its the famous Mango Harvesting Time of the year ! this year, only 1 tree seems to be productive, the other one moody lor says Porky because some of its branches got chopped off after the super storm. This year, is Papoy first year joining the Porkydigans in the harvest.. they have lots of fun ... thanks to buncle Dooney too for lending a helping hand..

New Pool !

Summer is here again, 2014 ... this particular year is extremely HOT !!! One of the all time important plan for the cavern is to have a private pool for the Porkydigans to dip in and relax. 5 years later the dream is no longer just a dream, it become a reality now ! Porky even planted the shroud trees for this project back in 2009, all in the master plan says Porky....  got it from the Philippines as Papoi 1st year birthday gift. Everybody loves it !

The Beanstalk Project Update III

Due to the crazy weather recently here at the Porky's cavern, the wu lou plant has started to show signs of aging....  it was looking healthy not too long ago and blossomed really fast here . Porky is also worried that his cash crop may spoil if not harvested due to the rain.

 5 musketeers had to be harvested today, me think  it has grown to its maximum size...

Porky: Nobody's perfect, so why should my wu lou be perfect too?  

 Porky: o well.. now begins the drying process... baccording to next year's feng shui, carrying a wu lou protects one's health... so gonna make a necklace and wear it 24/7!

 After harvesting, there are still some more on the beanstalk... this vein carries 4 wu lou.. all resting on the fertilizer container. Porky deduced that if u let them grow near the fertilizer container the wu low would be bigger !

 Porky: Proof that if u hang around another person long enough, odds are you are bound to dress and look alike! 

 Porky: This little wu lou is dozing off on a leaf...

 Porky: And this little wu lou is playing hide and seek in an empty container...

Porky is tapping his left foot, scratching his butt and digging his nose simultaneously while looking at his giant beanstalk. It has grown at a rate faster than we predicted, which is good (pt.1). We will definitely achieve unlimited wealth anytime soon, but ...

Horton went up to Tagaytay yesterday. He is on a mission, as usual send by Boss Porky. This round, his mission is to recruit helpers to maintain the garden back home in Porky's Cavern. What else can better fit this role than GNOME ! or garden dwarf !. Horton recruited 3 for the moment, as these GNOME is about 1ft tall, 8-10 Kilos each, goal is to recruit 88 ! Apart from helping Porky watering & maintaining the flowers and mango trees in shape, they're believed to be able to ward off evil sorcery and unwanted visitor as well (bad energy says Porky). Oh well, Tudolph the CEO says at least 7 recruitment by Christmas this year, cool !!!

The Miracle of Porktus

Last year, Porky planted some cactus in the cavern, here. It started small in the terrarium, but not long after that it just grew bigger pushing out the cover to make its way back to the nature. Out of all the species he grew, this particular type is extra cool. It produces flower, and it only bloom once in its lifetime, that is early morning at dawn. If you're able to see it, you're lucky and will be blessed with more luck says Porky.

Porky bumped into something new on his way to the garden this morning, its wild mushroom ! Looks yummy though but it might be poisonous, who knows.

Porktus Terrarium

Porky never run out of ideas to experiment with new ways of growing plants in his cavern. This time, he put some Porktus into an aquarium (also known as Terrarium) and place it next to the window in the living room. Its nice and clean, that's the way Porky likes it. His next plan is to add LIVE BUGS !

What is a Porktus ?

Porky is murmuring as he walk around the garden, the weather is getting crazily hot lately. All the flowers and shrouds died as a result of the intense heat.

But Porky being Porky, he figured out that cactus would be something nice to have in his garden and durable enough to withstand the scorching weather and wrath of Dimitri digging it. So, when a pig plant cactus, it became Porktus !
