Growing Bean Sprout

Benjamin and Benedict have temporarily retired from farming business after moving to PC2. They're focusing into technology sector now, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence so they spend more time in front of the computer, that's the future they say, Coding !

Now the task of growing vegetables are being managed by Woody. He is an outsource worker, sub contracting work from the Porkidigans, enterprising says Benjamin !

We bought mung beans and try to grow it over a strainer that is partially submerged and covered from any light source, this is to keep the bean moist. After 2 days, tadaaaaa !!! we got fresh bean sprout growing in the container. Easy Peasy, good source of organic vege, pesticide free.

Di Wang Miao Vegetable

We planted many types of vegetable in our cavern lately, and this one here is known as Di Wang Miao or Emperor Vegetable as we like to call it. Can't remember how long the original plant exist, probably since Porky Cavern 1, circa 2015-2017 maybe but for sure it is a very reliable and resilient plant. Easy to plant, cook and of course eaten as its soft and crunchy..

According to the expert Mr. Ephant, Epsom Salt can be use as alternative fertilizer other than those readily packed from nursery so we gave it a try. True enough, this round of harvest (after many in the past with smaller leaves) it turn into HULK version size. It yield the largest size of leaf we ever seen, upsize at least 3 times from the original. All the Porkydigans raised their pitchfork as a toss to good harvest this season, beep beep blue-ray...

Harvesting Day !

Many weeks ago, Porky planted Okra or Ladies Fingers. No scence from the movie Bone Collector, just the name. It was seeded into multiple pots, and surprisingly it yield good result on all of it. A little love and care, it grew happily reaching towards the sky.

Pots grew together

Okra is finally out!

This is the best grown

Tree of Life - Moringga (Part 1)

While in the Philippines, Porky discovered a plant that is kind of rare back home. Its scientific name is Moringga Oleifera, and also many other names, depending on which countries are referring to it. In India, it is known as DrumStick (Porky scratch head...??) and in Philippines as Malunggay. After doing some reading, all Porkydigans bagree (PKSH : agree) to call it Tree of Life, the most meaningful of all..

It's like a super plant, loaded with tons of vitamins and nutrients beating all other vegetables to TKO round in a boxing match. It is a common type of vegetables here in the Philippines, and one of the famous dish that taste yummy with this is Chicken Tinola (will post about the recipe next time). Cat bought the seeds from a Korean mini mart, supposedly to be eaten like peanuts, but Porky took a few and planted it in the garden. It grows steadily into a tree now, and soon Porkydigans will have ample supply of this super food. Read more about it here ...

Porky say it should grow like a BeanStalk overnight..

The Beanstalk Project Update III

Due to the crazy weather recently here at the Porky's cavern, the wu lou plant has started to show signs of aging....  it was looking healthy not too long ago and blossomed really fast here . Porky is also worried that his cash crop may spoil if not harvested due to the rain.

Bonoh... my beanstalk is going bald.. krysis...

5 musketeers had to be harvested today, me think  it has grown to its maximum size...

Porky: Nobody's perfect, so why should my wu lou be perfect too?

Porky: o well.. now begins the drying process... baccording to next year's feng shui, carrying a wu lou protects one's health... so gonna make a necklace and wear it 24/7!

After harvesting, there are still some more on the beanstalk... this vein carries 4 wu lou.. all resting on the fertilizer container. Porky deduced that if u let them grow near the fertilizer container the wu low would be bigger !

Porky: Proof that if u hang around another person long enough, odds are you are bound to dress and look alike!

Porky: This little wu lou is dozing off on a leaf...

Porky: And this little wu lou is playing hide and seek in an empty container...

Porky: Boops.... not that little after all.. big head small body

Porky: a Pure porkydigan specimen... round round, fat fat!

A sign of prosperity.. 8 wu lous on a vein!

Furry looking baby wu lou..

Beanstalk and Porky Pt.2

Porky is tapping his left foot, scratching his butt and digging his nose simultaneously while looking at his giant beanstalk. It has grown at a rate faster than we predicted, which is good (pt.1). We will definitely achieve unlimited wealth anytime soon, but ...

Porky : why bissit not growing upward ?

In life, there is always shortcut in pursuing greater wealth and happiness. But there is a catch, it don't come easy and normally with great risks. But according to Porky.. what so lipikult ? (PKSH : difficult), manage the risk and cash out on the reward !!! He planted some magic beans in the garden, and according to him it will grow into a giant beanstalk ! But he haven't work out the part how he going to kill the giant that would be running after him, because chopping the beanstalk will destroy the gateway to unlimited wealth.. hmmmm...
